What is an HVLS Fan?

-HVLS stands for High Volume & Low Speed.:

This unique principle leads to several advantages in industrial and logistics buildings, shopping malls, gyms and even cow barns: HVLS fans, with diameters ranging from 12 ft. to 24 ft. (3,6m – 7,3m), are mounted below the ceiling and operate at very low speeds (usually between 10-95 rpm). They move enormous amounts of air, creating a pleasant cool breeze on the skin on hot summer days due to the wind chill effect.

-HVLS fans are a very cost-effective as well as environmentally friendly alternative to air conditioning. In winter HVLS fans deliver destratification: Warm air under the ceiling which is unused is now evenly distributed within the building. This significantly saves heating costs.
